Happy New Year everyone! Hope you had a great time with your loved ones over the holiday season!
I can’t believe January 2025 is already here! It only feels like minutes ago I was checking out of work and getting ready to have Amelia, and now our time together is almost at an end. I have a few more precious days with her… and I feel like she knows it, we were up half of the night š„“ Split nights really are the bane of my life at the moment.
So with back to work, comes back to a routine… not sure I’m going to need my alarm clock as I have a human one it seams that loves 4am… I have loved waking up naturally and as much as I’m dreading it going back on, I really couldn’t live without my Lumie Alarm clock. I have never been able to wake up with a traditional alarm clock, the noise just doesn’t phase me. My husband says I’m a nightmare to wake up. With this alarm clock I get the feeling of waking up naturally, even if I haven’t so at least that might soften the blow.
I’ve spent the last week trying to get organised, adding some functional storage to the house. Now we’ve been back home 18 months and lived in the space, it has been a lot easier to identify things we needed. Ted’s bits and towels at the back door have been driving me crazy for a while, we’ve been using a small storage tower and repurposed a cheap shoe rack into a towel storage and it was just painful to find anything, and the “towel rail” kept collapsing with the weight of the towels or if it needed moving. I found this fab Ikea Lack unit which fits perfectly behind the door and I can’t believe I didn’t buy one sooner. Its going to make being organised and putting things away so much easier!

Our final day on mat leave together tomorrow is set to be a snowy one so maybe we’ll spend it being productive or maybe it will be a chill day. Either way I’ve felt blessed to have such a long time with our baby girl, and its time I’ll never get back. We might complain in the UK about the benefits but compared to other countries I feel so lucky.
One thing is for certain, tomorrow I’ll be writing a meal plan and sorting my van out for going back to work now that the batteries are all charged uo it needs the tyres pumped up and some fresh diesel!
We are also going to start our Alphabet decluttering from tomorrow so I’ll keep you updated where we get to with that!
Love, Jo-Anne x
