Life update

Where to begin… what a win for our local football team! Last weekend, NUFC brough home some silverware and the whole city has a spring in its step.

The working week has been pretty normal other than the buzz around the city, with references everywhere to the cup win.

This week at work I took a bit of a leap of faith and volunteered myself for a presenting opportunity to some school children – its not my usual day at work but it was nice to practice a skill I’m a bit rusty with since maternity leave… and how better to throw yourself under the bus than a bunch of 12 and 13 year olds trying to excite them about the history of a corporate company. Ome of the kids asked what my favourite part of working at my company is, and I told them travelling… but actually I think its probably the opportunity to learn more about myself and the personal development opportunities we have. Its helped me in so many situations outside of work too, and helps me be the person I am today.

The weather has been so nice this week, but cold overnight which hasn’t helped our car windscreen which was recently repaired, and cracked last week, so Friday was spent around getting that fixed.

Dan’s off on a stag do this weekend so I’ll be solo parenting – I’m getting organised by prepping Amelia’s outfits, her bag, snacks etc. So I’m not balancing too much at once. We’ve got some lovely plans, Amelia had a birthday party to go to today which she’s had a great time and we’re meeting some friends for a play date and Sunday lunch tomorrow.

Alphabet Decluttering

Alphabet Decluttering update, this week was the letter K

Ideas: Kitchen items, Keepsakes, Kids items.

This weekend we’re having our corner larder unit fixed as one of the shelves broke, so it was a great time to rearrange the kitchen storage and get rid of a few things.

I used it as a great excuse to do a cupboard audit and add them to my electronic list.

I also made a start this week changing Amelia’s clothes over into her new size so I’ve got a bag of clothes ready to pass on to a friend.

Meal Planning

We’ve got into a rhythm of meal planning where we’re keeping a theme for each day which is really helpful in terms of prep time. Such as a slow cooker day, pasta day, kebab day etc.

Electronically creating my food audits is taking me more time than I’d like to admit to but running a house with a baby working full time is a lot of work so I’m trying to be kind to myself. I’ve been working on a prompt ready to test it out this week with the list I have so far.

Round Up

After a lovely week, we’re heading into next week fully organised!

Love, Jo-Anne x
