Life update

Where to begin… its been a pretty evenful week in the Wright household!

On Saturday, we went for an amazing Spa Day..  it really was the best Christmas gift ever and the full body massage was absolutely what the doctor ordered. We enjoyed abit of me time and time as a couple to connect, that we just don’t get any more. While we were away, the inlaws looked after Ted and Amelia, walked Ted, cut our grass and sorted some of the logs from the fallen tree. Legends!

On Sunday, we had a lovely afternoon walk in the woods and sunshine with the family. When we got home I made a start on our holiday shopping, using topcashback to order suncream from Savers and Amazon.

On Monday, I got an amazing delivery from Northumbrian Free Range eggs for winning a competition, ordered more holiday bits online and did a review of our finances.

On Tuesday, I had to take an unexpected day off as Amelia spiked a fever overnight so it was a day of cuddles and rest for us.

On Wednesday, Amelia was still out of sorts but no more fevers. I ordered Easter gifts for the kids, a huge clothes order for Amelia from Next with some vouchers she had, started my stocking fillers with an electric toothbrush for Amelia from Boots (using some points I’ve saved from recycling), and some of my holiday clothes arrived from Shein.

On Thursday, the car went to a new garage for its service and MOT. When I collected it a fault was showing on the dash and I was assured by the following morning it would clear… but it didn’t. I cleaned the kitchen on my lunch break and caught up with some laundry and printed our holiday checklist.

On Friday, I had a busy day with appointments and catching up around the house. Amelia had spiked another temp overnight so the rest of the day was spent trying to get her to eat something.

The week was total carnage trying to balance the needs of a poorly unhappy baby and the mountain of things we had on our plates but we got there in the end!

Alphabet Decluttering

Alphabet Decluttering update, this week is the letter N

Ideas: Nightstand, Notes, Notebooks, Newspapers, Novelty Items, Necklaces, Napkins, Numbers, Nostalgia items

With all the chaos of Amelia being poorly I’m behind on this weeks decluttering but I have a few quick hits for the letter N. I have a storage box FULL on notebooks, more than I can ever possibly use, so I’ll be donating those… I just have to figure out a cause that needs them. I’m hoping they can go to a childrens cause, perhaps for students that can’t afford stationary but I need to investigate where.

I also through some novely items into our donation box that I found lying round.

Just a little update on our Livingroom Decluttering Project – I’ve created a separate page to keep me accountable and I’ll be updating this each time a task is completed. I’m not setting myself a strict deadline because I need to be kind to myself balancing life with a baby can be so tough and the only person that really cares about the jobs to be done is me.

Meal Planning

Meal planning went well this week all things considering. Here’s what we had

  • Monday – chicken
  • Tuesday – toast
  • Wednesday – pizza
  • Thursday – bolognese / carbonara for Amelia
  • Friday – kebabs
  • Saturday – chinese
  • Sunday – dinner

Spring Cleaning

This week I tackled the oven… well… I did the hob and the doors. I ran out of time and need to do the inside but I’ve earmarked easter weekend for that, as I’ll be making fishpie on Good Friday and it will end up stinky again anyway.

Week 15 Round Up

Thats all for this week folks. A busy week, lets hope next week comes with less vehicle and teething/health related troubles.

Love, Jo-Anne x
