Life Update

This week started off with a DIY Project, building a new shelving unit for the utility. I need a couple more shelves but happy with how the space has turned out. It allows me to see and reach all of the cleaning products and back supply easily, as well as store my excess baby recycling I’ve scanned into the boots recycling app. I’ll share a photo next week when I’ve managed to nip back to ikea for the extra shelves.

It was actually nice to be back to routine… maybe not work, as I chucked the lottery on by 9am on Monday haha. The sunshine was giving me major holiday blues. Mainly it was nice to be in control of what we ate again – I think Ive had my fill of all inclusive beige foods, pizza and pasta for the year… or so I thought!

On Thursday, me and Mr W nipped away on a 7 hour round trip to Manchester to see Boyce Avenue; the band who covered “Incase you didn’t know” – our wedding song. It was lovely to have an afternoon and evening just for us, but kind of wosh we’d stayed over (which had been the original plan!)

We discovered on Friday afternoon that Ted’s got a broken tooth – poor guy! He’s booked into the vets next week to have that checked out.

On Saturday I nipped away for a baby shower for one of my baby yoga mqm friends and had the lushest time – it was so strange being with all the mums child free!

Last week we managed to unpack all of the cases and get them back in the loft but since the sunshine has stay, we decided to book a little getaway in the van for Saturday as a trial run. Of course I left packing til the last minute… but it turned out just fine as Amelia ended up having a late nap. I forgot to pack coats and walking boots, and it was pretty chilly but we made do and came home earlier than planned… note to self, make a packing list for next time!

Alphabet Decluttering

Alphabet Decluttering update, this week is the letter R

Ideas: Rugs, Refridgerator, Rain Gear, Reusable bags, Ribbons and Wrapping paper, Routines, Records, Recipe Books, Refills, Reading glasses, Rucksacks and backpacks, Reference materials (like old phone books), Remants (materials etc. for crafting).

This week I’ve gone a little off piste and gone for Recycling, Reusable and Rubbish as I’d just cleared out the fridge before holidays.

As we’ve been blasting through the decluttering, I’ve not had a spare minute to get rid of things I’d decluttered for a while – they’ve been sat in boxes, so this week I set aside things for the charity shop (Reusable), the tip (rubbish), and recycling thats not as straight forward (brita filters, plastic bags, batteries etc.) I didn’t manage to get them to the respective locations before we nipped away on Saturday for the night, but they’re all loaded into the car and van ready for next week.

I also had quite the pile mounting for Vinted, I added a few bits up for sale and reduced lots down to £1. A couple of things have sold already which is great so we’ll get them taken to the shop tonight. We’re a little off track with decluttering for our Christmas budget but hopefully we can pull that back as we have some electricals to sell or recycle.

Meal Planning

Meal planning was a bit chaotic, we planned ourselves instead of using AI and had some meals we’d missed whilst being away… of course Mr W hadnt had his fill of pizza and pasta so of course they featured

Mr W’s choices:

  • Egg free carbonara – recipe here
  • Beef mince Fajita’s – literally a smokey bbq old el paso sachet into a portion of mince with a wrap
  • Fresh Sourdough pizza
  • Pesto pasta
  • Cooked breakfast; hash browns, bacon, sausage, eggy bread

Next week I’m hoping to avoid pizza and pasta as I’m getting a bit sick… never thought I’d say that!

Round Up

All in all, a nice quiet week in Casa Wright
