Life Update
On Sunday when we returned from our little getaway the weather was a tad gloomy so we unpacked the van and car, and loaded them with last weeks recycling rubbish and charity donations ready for the week ahead. We didn’t manage to stay or do as much as we’d liked as the weather was a bit rubbish and I managed to forget our walking boots and coats – doh! But it was nice to experience it all the same and I think we’ll enjoy another trip soon.
On Tuesday, I headed to the tip after work and sent off my vinted sales from the weekend. It was so strange driving to work with a boot full of cardboard and not being able to see out of the rear view mirror in the car – its something I’m totally used to in the van.
Throughout the week I’ve been designing Funky Pigeon cards, they appear to have taken all of their 50% codes down which is a bit disappointing however they’ve introduced a new VIP program which means 40% off no matter how many cards you buy. I’ll be continuing to batch mine as it reduces the postage cost. Considering the price quality and the fact I don’t need an extra trip out of the house, I’m still happy with the price… but that extra 10% off was so nice while it lasted, haha!
Ted Update – He went to the vet on Wednesday and will have an operation soon to remove his broken tooth. We had to remove some of his toys that likely caused the break and he is on a diet to lose some weight. All his treats from settling into life as a big brother had starting to catch up on him, poor guy.
We spent Friday doing lots of little jobs around the house and getting ahead for the next few weeks. We have lots of admin in May; birthdays, insurances etc. so there is a lot of plates spinning.
This morning, Amelia has woken up early with a fever so things will likely be a bit slower today. By 10 I’d already done the weekly food shop and unpacked it all ready for the week. I’ve missed loads of things off and I haven’t written a meal plan yet but we should survive on what we have.
Alphabet Decluttering
Alphabet Decluttering update, this week is the letter T
Ideas: Towels, Toiletries, Tools, Tshirts, Trousers, Tupperwear, Textbooks, Tickets, Throws, Tech, Trickets, Tea, Thread, Timers, Thank you cards
Firstly we decluttered Teds toys, so we now have a bag full of old toys to pass on or take to the local cat and dog shelter.
Thank you cards – while I was tidying a few weeks ago, I found thank you cards I made for our wedding but didn’t write or send. I’m going to send a text to apologise and bin them as we got married almost 4 years ago (where has that gone) and its now far too late to send them. Knowing they were upstairs, after Amelia’s christening we just texted everyone. Not all is lost, the blank cards I was using can be repurposed, I’m sure with a little girl around there will be plenty of crafting opportunities. The photo of us I was adding to the front, I’ll bin. I’ll pop the list away in the memory book of the wedding, that might be a nice little conversation for the future.
Meal Planning
We’ve all been a little off colour this week so our meal plan was very boring;
- Monday – chicken dinner
- Tuesday – cooked breakfast (using up the breakfast bits I bought to cook at the weekend)
- Wednesday – sausage casserole
- Thursday – pizza
- Friday – egg free carbonara (yes, again)
I really must do my food audits again soon – I’m on a cost saving mission and I really want to use up some supplies. I also know I have 3 chicken carcasses in the freezer taking up space so I’ll likely chuck the slow cooker on over the weekend and make a huge batch of stock.
“Spring” Cleaning
Honestly not sure if we’re still in spring or we’ve moved to summer at this point but this weekend I’m cleaning the appliances. First on the list is the vacuum cleaners. Its so hard to plan this job as once the filters are wet, you cant use them but both are absolutely desperate. I’m also going to do the cooker washer and dryer as its been a while
Weekly Round Up
Thats it for this week, a little bit quiet around here with lots going on
Love, Jo-Anne x
